Sauer 202
The Sauer 202 looks and feels well crafted and strong. The action is made from one piece of metal and there are steel and alloy options. Different barrels, bolts, magazines and even triggers may be fitted into the same action body. With regard to barrel changing, the chamber section slides into the front of the receiver and is clamped in place by three bolts. It is not quite as quick as some when it comes to changing but the engineering is excellent. The strong six-lug bolt of the Sauer system locks into the barrel directly and there is no issue with head-spacing - ensuring good accuracy and reduced recoil. There are many permutations and combinations and 23 calibre options. This is an excellent takedown rifle that one might use for many purposes. Prices from £1,865. Call Garlands on 01827 383300.
