Charity event to take place at Holywell House, Swanmore

Canine Partners, who specialise in providing highly-trained assistance dogs to people with disabilities, will hold its fifth annual Driven Clay Challenge on Saturday 12 September at Holywell House in Swanmore, Hampshire. HRH The Duke of Gloucester will attend the event in his capacity as patron of the charity.

Officially launched in 1990, Canine Partners enables people with disabilities to enjoy greater independence and a better quality of life through the help of specially trained dogs.

Entry to the shoot will be limited to 35 x 4 gun teams, however single guns are welcomed and will be made into teams on the day. The Shoot will comprise five drives, which will be: driven pheasant, duck, ptarmigan, a teal flush and a walked-up stand. There will also be a pool shoot comprising three traps per stand with cash prizes.

Terry Knott of Canine Partners notes that: “This event is a fantastic day-out for any shooting enthusiast.  As well as the shooting activity there will be a breakfast, champagne reception and a lunch, courtesy of Greens of St James – the Restaurant and Oyster Bar.  The money raised from an event such as this provides us with vital funds to purchase and train more dogs to transform the lives of people in wheelchairs.”

The cost is £250 per gun or £1,000 per team, including shooting, clays and all catering. Guests are welcome to attend the lunch at a cost of £30 per person.  For further information on this event, or Canine Partners, please visit www.caninepartners.co.uk or call 01730 716002.

The event, held in the splendid surroundings of Holywell House, is by kind permission of The Earl & Countess of Clarendon.
