The first ever 'ladies only' fly-fishing and angling club has been launched in the North East.
The club has been launched by 20-year-old Lucy Bowden, founder of the website fishingforeveryone and public relations co-ordinator for Hardy & Greys.
The club is open to ladies of all ages and fishing abilities and is free to join.
Monthly meetings and fly-fishing trips in the local area will be organised.
Fishing is something that anyone can do, no matter what age, race, gender or ability, and I hope that with my encouragement and many others, fishing will soon become a mainstream sport for women and prove once and for all that they often make the best anglers, says Lucy.
