Near Tiverton in Devon, Loyton Lodge has embraced the West Country’s renoun as a shooting destination. Having converted the dairy farm to what owners Sally and Alick Barnes call a ‘sophisticated rural retreat’, they now run day courses on shooting etiquette.

As well as clay pigeon shooting lessons guests can receive intruction on all aspects of a day shooting from dress to tipping, marking birds to double gunning. You will finish the day with a game preperation and cookery class and a cream tea.

The shooting course, with dinner bed and breakfast costs £360 based on a group of 10. Partners non shooting are welcome at a discount.
