Craig Cottage on the River Deveron

By Tobias Coe for The Field

Tuesday, 13 July 2010

A search of the internet will throw up lots of fishing holidays,

Glaslyn estate (www.riverwye.net; 01597 810258), is where the writer lived the dream (albeit only too briefly). In addition to trout and grayling fishing it has a run of late-season salmon.

Edwinsford estate (www.edwinsfordestate.co.uk; 01558 685848) has a fishing cottage available and excellent sea-trout fishing on the River Cothi.

Montcoffer Fishings (www.montcofferfishings.co.uk; 01261 821552) is ideal for keen salmon anglers. It has a cottage and lodge available, with one mile of fishing on the renowned River Deveron.

Swanmeadow (www.swanmeadow.co.uk; 01873 840207) has one mile of fishing on the River Usk for salmon, sea-trout and brown trout.

River Dove (www.dovecottages.co.uk; 01335 310389) has cottages with chalkstream fishing. Perfect for those with a hankering for the opportunity to fish a chalkstream.

Wrackleford estate (www.wrackleford.co.uk/lodge; 01305
267643) has a fishing lodge on the River Frome.
