Since Saturday 17th July, the beginning of National Fishing Month, festivities have been in full flow. These brilliant events started with the Go Fishing Show at Cudmore Fisheries, Newcastle under Lyme where coaches from the Professional Anglers Association (PAA) tutored those keen to try the sport.

Gipping Valley AC soon followed suit with their fantastically organised event in Suffolk. The day was a great success. David Hall, the father of four-year-old Lewis who tried fishing for the first time, said “I can’t speak highly enough of the coach and the time and patience he gave my son. Lewis’ photo of his first fish has taken prime position on his bedside table.”

The CLA Game Fair last weekend attracted over 200 enthusiastic youngsters to the beautiful lakes of Ragley Hall. The Community Angling Regeneration Project (CARP), the PAA and the ADB coached amateurs and experienced fishermen. A couple of double figure carp were caught during the three day event. National Fishing Moth Coordinator said “We couldn’t have hoped for a better start to National Fishing Month. The feedback from the first two weeekend’s events has been really positive with reports of great experiences”.

Another fabulous fishing day coming up is taking place on August 15th at Higham Fishery in Northumberland organised by young enthusiast Lilly Wood.  Other forthcoming events are listed on the
