Fashion show, champagne reception and gala dinner at The Dorchester, Park Lane on 20 September 2012 to raise funds for military charities
Fashion has often taken inspiration from the military and now it is giving something back. The British Fashion Council has got behind a star studded evening to raise money for the Household Cavalry Operational Casualties Fund and the British Forces Foundation.
Jade Parfitt, Jasmine Guinness and Lyza Onysko posed for pictures to launch the event with members of the houshold Cavalry in especially created designer clothes. Jade Parfitt was dressed by Corrie Neilson and is seen here perched on the wonderfully accommodating charger George. He is one of only four of the Household Cavalry's blacks that are trained for the "lie down" in HM The Queen's Musical Ride.
Fashion for the Brave promises to be an exceptional evening with the HCMR's intrinsic glamour being bolstered by a host of models and celebrities including James Blunt, Ned Rocknroll, Hilary Alexander and Sienna Miller.
The Jubilee celebrations showed the world just how stunning the Household Cavalry can be but we must not forget that it is also an operational unit, part of an army that is under huge pressure in Afganistan and elsewhere. Happily you can support them by spending a glorious evening surrounded by 'It Girls' and fit army chaps in dress uniform with spurs. Huzzah!
