Help for Horses sees World War I ambulance pulled the length of the country to help injured servicemen

Horses Help Heroes is a new charitable initiative to raise money for H4H. Their exciting challenge is to drive a replica World War I ambulance from Land's End to John o' Groats, with two horse power, in under 10 days. They will start on 21st June 2011.

Eight pairs of horses will be driven by Jacks El Tawil, a Wiltshire paramedic, and amputee soldiers on the epic journey, working in roughly 6 hour shifts over 1000 miles. The team will have a support crew and farriers on hand and plan to keep going day and night to cover the ground in time.

This rather eccentric undertaking has captured imaginations accross the country and garnered support from high places. HRH Prince William of Wales said "I salute all those involved with Horses Help Heroes for their tireless ccommitment, energy and originality in their drive towards this vision. I urge everyone to support them, in whatever way they can."

Horses Help Heroes has received messages of support from high profile figures across the equestrian world and hopes to raise £1000,000.

Money raised will go to the Help for Heroes 'Quick Reaction Fund' as well as other military charities such as ABF The Soldiers Charity, Blesma and Combat Stress.
