Join a cycle ride to raise money for our servicemen.
Launched by cartoonist Bryn Parry, the charity Help for Heroes has been set up to support wounded servicemen coming home from Iraq and Afghanistan.
The head of the Army, General Sir Richard Dannatt, has given his personal backing and the charity is now fund-raising to help build a new gym and swimming pool at Headley Court, the Defence Medical Rehabilitation centre near Leatherhead in Surrey.
Bryn and his wife Emma are looking for volunteers to accompany them on the 320-mile Big Battlefield Bike Ride, leaving HMS Victory on May 28.
The 300 cyclists will cross the channel in a landing ship, then ride through the battlefields of Normandy, Picardy and the Somme for five days before returning to London.
There they want other cyclists to join them from across the country to undertake the final stretch from Blackheath to the Cenotaph and help raise the target of £500,000.
"Your servicemen need your support and they need it urgently," says Bryn, who was an Army officer for 10 years.
