Where can I get initials engraved on a cartridge bag?

By The Field

Wednesday, 18 April 2012

I would like to have my children's initials engraved on cartridge bags and a design engraved on my own cartridge bag. I am struggling to find experts in this field who can undertake this task without damaging the leather of the cartridge bag.
GHC, Essex

ANSWER

The Leather Workshop and Saddlery (3 Hawksworth Road, Minehead, Somerset, tel 01643 703033) can put initials on cartridge bags and gun sleeves, and charges from £12 for three initials.

Daniels & Wood (24 Regent Street, Rowhedge, Colchester CO5 7EA, tel 0845 257 9720) can also personalise cartridge bags and gun sleeves but prefers to do so on its own-brand products. It offers a choice of three fonts and charges £35 per set of initials.

Artist Stacey Miller has produced a range of designs - pheasant, woodcock, working dogs - which can be engraved on an item at a starting price of £50.

Daniels & Wood also offers bespoke engraving. The customer provides photographs of a pet or working dog and Miller then produces a pen-and-ink sketch which will be turned into an engraving for the item. Prices start at around £130 and the job takes three to four weeks.
